The new Expedition MAX has been engineered to provide a host of handy innovations and family-friendly amenities. From the exceptional comfort and convenience features, to the extra ‘stretch’ room found on the Expedition MAX, to the practical touches like a standard auxiliary audio input jack for MP3 players, Expedition MAX stands ready to tackle any of life’s adventures. New this year: the luxurious King Ranch® Edition and an available Reverse Camera System. It’s time to gather everybody, pack everything and hit the road to anywhere.
Comforts
	Superior Seating. For remarkable seating comfort the Eddie Bauer, King Ranch and Limited Expedition MAXs feature standard heated and cooled leather front captain’s chairs with power adjustments. A 2-driver memory system simply remembers how to keep you comfortable behind the wheel, saving and recalling preferred seating positions.

	Close at Hand. Standard across all models is Expedition MAX’s new centre console featuring a floor-mounted shifter and integrated cupholders.

	Entertainment for All. For those with an ear for music the 2008 Expedition MAX is available with an AM/FM in-dash MP3 capable six-CD changer audio system. A plug-and-play audio input jack and a factory-installed SIRIUS satellite radio are standard. SIRIUS offers your pick of digital quality channels – including 100% commercial-free music, world-class sports, news, talk and entertainment options and does it from coast-to-coast. With 6 month pre-paid subscription.

	Disappearing Act. At the touch of a button three rows of seats turn into two. Standard on Eddie Bauer, King Ranch and Limited models, the PowerFold™ flat-folding third row seat folds into the floor with a push of a button; Press again and the seatbacks unfold to provide comfortable seating for up to 3 adults. Optional on XLT

	Passengers or Packing. With versatile seating that can be rearranged to seat up to eight or store up to 108 cu. ft.* of cargo, you can choose to seat comfortably or pack generously. *With 2nd and 3rd row seats folded

	Carrying Capacity. Expedition MAX offers 680 L (24 cu. Ft.) of extra* cargo room behind the third-row seat - that's four more full-sized coolers or eight additional duffle bags! Just when you needed more space to carry, Expedition MAX delivers. *680 L more than the 2008 base Expedition model.

	Navigation Nation. The time has come to scrap your paper maps and go digital. Expedition MAX’s optional, voice-activated DVD based Navigation System features voice activation and intersection programming. So it makes traveling to new places easy and enjoyable. n/a on XLT models.

Power
	Silence is Golden. Expedition MAX’s interior is all the more appealing when you realize that you’re enjoying it in such relaxing quiet. In fact, this is the quietest Expedition MAX ever. To help further isolate you and your family from road noise, we used new materials in Expedition MAX’s headliner and dash panel in addition to class-exclusive Quiet Steel® laminate in the dash panel and oil pan. An acoustic laminate windshield and thick side glass also help reduce wind noise in particular. The result of all this hard work? You can use your inside voice to address 3rd-row passengers from the driver’s seat, and vice versa. when compared to previous generations of Expedition MAX.

	The Beast Within. The 2008 Expedition MAX houses an efficient V8 engine with a 3-valve head design that maximizes its energy to give you a mighty 300 hp and 365 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s coupled with a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission providing a terrific launch feel. Expedition MAX’s powertrain system is also designed to significantly reduce emissions as compared to the previous generation. Smog-forming emissions have been reduced by 55%, hydrocarbon by 42%, and nitrogen oxide by 65%.

	MAX Pulling Power. Expedition MAX gives you the capacity to tow up to 3969 kg (8750 lbs.)* of boat, recreational trailer or cargo and still seat up to eight people in full comfort. Getting in and out of the rearmost seats is simple thanks to larger second-row doors and rear wheel wells that don't intrude into the doorway. *When properly equipped Maximum trailer towing capacity will vary based on passenger and cargo loads, and optional equipment installed on the vehicle. Safety
	Confident Control. To help increase your control and add to your peace of mind, AdvanceTrac® with class-exclusive* RSC® (Roll Stability Control) is standard on every 2008 Expedition MAX. *Class is full-size SUV.

	Safety Comes First. The safest Expedition MAX ever* makes it easy, with standard front-seat side airbags and our 3-row Safety Canopy ™ System joining our class-exclusive Personal Safety System® (PSS). The Safety Canopy System features side-curtain airbags that are larger than on the previous generation, and help provide protection for all 3 rows of outboard-seated occupants in certain types of side-impact events. *Based on internal Ford safety testing results.

	Personal Safety System®. The innovative PSS uses a network of sensors to help enhance protection for the driver and front passenger in certain frontal collisions. It customizes the deployment of Expedition MAX’s dual-stage front airbags based on several criteria, including the driver’s-seat position, whether the front safety belts are in use, and the overall severity of the impact. Always wear your safety belt and secure children in the rear seat..

Drive
	Smooth Control. Expedition MAX’s standard Control Trac® 4 wheel-drive system features a convenient 4x4 AUTO mode that helps sense when you’re driving on a loose or slippery surface (like gravel or snow) and automatically optimizes traction by transferring power to the appropriate wheels. The Off-Road Package, optional on XLT, adds black tubular step bars and skid plates to help protect the engine, transfer case and fuel tank. Consult owner's manual before taking vehicle off-road.

	Built-In Stability. AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control) can help in many real-world situations, such as when you’re making an emergency maneuvers to avoid something on the road; driving on slippery surfaces like snowy, muddy, wet or gravel roads; or even just traveling on uneven surfaces, such as in construction zones.* *Remember that even advanced technology cannot overcome the laws of physics. It’s always possible to lose control of a vehicle due to inappropriate driver input for the conditions.

	Trail Happy. Expedition MAX’s outstanding torsional rigidity, stiff frame, monotube shocks and enhanced steering gear all contribute to its smooth ride and excellent steering control, which should help keep the kids comfy while you hunt for your campsite down that unforgiving path.
